Building on the success of smash-hit seasons in London and across the UK, a multi-award winning production of Fiddler on the Roof has revealed its Australian cast.
Directed by Jordan Fein, the production opened at Regent Park’s Open Air Theatre, later moving to The Barbican where it decimated records and earned three Olivier awards, including Best Musical Revival in 2025.
Originally staged in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof takes us back to 1905 and the tiny village of Anatevka, where the milkman Tevye lives by strict traditions. Fein’s contemporary interpretation has been praised as emotionally deep, inventive and strikingly detailed.
“The talent we saw in the Australian auditions was world-class,” Fein said of the production.
“I am overjoyed to have assembled this brilliant company to continue the legacy of this beloved story”.

The cast is led by West End star Troy Sussman as Tevye, known for his outstanding roles in Back to the Future, Les Miserables, Sunset Boulevard and Disney’s Aladdin.
Sussman is joined by Australian favourite Sigrid Thornton as Yente, returning to the musical stage in a starring role for the first time in more than ten years.
Alexis Fishman, Freya Boltman, Ellen Ebbs, Caity Plummer and many more Aussie talents round out the massive cast.
Fiddler on the Roof is a classic musical of joy and community and an exuberant celebration of love and life, featuring beloved songs including If I Were A Rich Man, Matchmaker and Sunrise, Sunset.
Fiddler on the Roof is heading to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne this July – October. Stay tuned for official Perth dates. For more, head to fiddlerontherooftour.com
