Recent research from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission entitled ‘Off the Map’ said that African Governments are denying GLBT people access to basic HIV support services such as prevention, counselling, testing and treatment. The report states that same sex transmission of HIV in Africa has been under-represented. The report also recommends the de-criminalisation of same-sex relationships and training of healthcare professionals to ensure they respect the equal rights of all patients.
