Spicks and Specks Returns

One of the ABC’s most enduring and popular programs is set to return in 2013. Spicks and Specks will be relaunched with a new host and new team captains. We wonder if they’ll copy the similar British TV show Never Mind The Buzzcocks and have a different host each week.

Ricky Martin Joins the The Voice

Nine’s The Voice will add Ricky Martin as a judge next year. Martin joins the show in place of Keith Urban who is now on Amercian Idol. Martin will sit alongside returning judges Delta Goodrem, Seal and Joel Madden. Martin will leave the Broadway production of Evita on January 26 and then head to Australia.     

Jessica Marais is Carlotta

Jessica Marais returns to Australian TV screens next year to star in a 90 minute tele-movie about the life of famous Sydney trans* woman Carlotta.  Perth raised Marais is currently staring in the US series Magic City and is best known for her role on Packed to the Rafters.

Look Out For

Dinner with Josh Thomas

The Australian version of Come Dine With Me this month has a special celebrity edition. Queer comedian Josh Thomas will join actress Chloe Maxwell, socialite Prue MacSween and Danni’s ex Kris Smith in the show where each of them host a dinner party. Check it out on Foxtel’s Lifestyle on January 11.

25 Hours of Kylie

To celebrate Kylie Minogues 25th year in music Foxtel’s music chanel Max is having a 25 hour Kylie Marathon which will include her 2012 Aphrodite show and a behind the scenes documentary. Tune in from 8:30pm on December 8.

Doctor Who and The Snowmen

The Doctor Who Christmas special will be on Autralian screens on ABC1 on Boxing Day, just hours after it airs in the UK. Returning to this episode is 18th century lesbian couple Madame Varsta and Jenny Flint – last seen in the episode A Good Man Goes To War.
