Teacher Elizabeth Crother was on trial this month for 13 counts of sexual penetration and 10 counts of indecent dealing with a female pupil between November 1998 and March 1999. The girl and Ms Crothers lived together in a lesbian relationship for three years after the girl left school. Crothers was cleared of 19 charges, as the judge asserted that she had not groomed the girl for sex nor encouraged her to leave school. Crothers was given two years suspended sentence for each of the two remaining counts.
