The Most Important Thing That Ever Happened….

The Northbridge History Project is gathering steam! One way it hopes to achieve further momentum is initiating community discussion to choose the ten topics most vital to gay and lesbian history here in Northbridge. The themes chosen will be used as foci for the vast quantities of stories, images and records of our community in Northbridge. Social networking sites such as MySpace will be facilitated in order to create a central hub of activity, around which satellite sites will be used to explore themes pertinent to the community. Some of the historical themes already suggested include:

  • Venues, An Evolution Of
  • The Fight for Queer Rights
  • Beats & Cruising Spots
  • A Lesbian History of Northbridge
  • Contentious Old Queens…
  • The Parades
  • Community Support Spots
  • Fashion Of The Ages – from the far out to the formal
  • A Gay Asian History of Northbridge
  • Pride Parties in the Pink Triangle
  • Being Fabulous At Fairday
  • A History Of Drag – from makeup to murders

Hate them, love them, have much better suggestions? Tell the Lesbian & Gay Steering Committee of The Northbridge History Project what you think via northbridgehistoryproject@gmail.com or by visiting www.myspace.com/northbridgehistory(.)
