Speers was released after a few hours and has been summoned to appear in court on 4th May.

In a statement her manager Cade Hudson said, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.”

“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

Britney’s career got off to a big start in 1999 with her debut single Hot Me Baby (One More Time), and soon she one of the biggest pop stars in the world. To date she has released nine albums, her most recent being 2023’s Glory.

The singer has also had ongoing mental health challenges that saw her placed under a controversial conservatorship from 2008 until 2021. During this time the singer’s life and assets were managed by her father and manager.
