The Buzz

Is it really March? Yes, you fool, it is – 2008 stops for nobody! Summer is winding down to a humid close, but the world is still turning and our little city is still buzzing, so check it all out! Last month we had the WAMI awards and now the Regional WAMi Tour makes its way through Northam, Merredin, Narrogin and Quindanning from March 27-30. If you’re in the neighbourhood, give it a go.

Back in Perth, there’s plenty of fun to be had. RTRFM honours International Women’s Day with some ladies rock, featuring the vivacious Sex Panther, at Drastic on Plastic’s March 8 at Mojo’s. Later in the month, RTRFM turns it up for Full Frequency (March 20) at Club Capital.

Also, in March, Future Music Festival electrifies Wellington Square on March 2nd, while Soundwave brings some noise to Bassendean’s Steel Blue Oval March 3rd. A top pick this month, French sisters Coco Rosie gender bend in the Bakery on March 4th. The mid-month is apricot-flavoured jam-packed with Alex Metric at Ambar (March 14), Crazy Penis at the Court Hotel (March 15), Deborah Conway at Mundaring Weir (March 15) West Coast Blues and Roots Festival in Fremantle (March 15-16), and Love All Music Festival at Loton Park (March 15). LL Cool J at Metro City (March 24), Maroon 5 at Burswood Dome (March 28), and Jack Johnson at Members Equity Stadium (March 29) finish the month off nicely.

Get your tickets NOW for gigs coming up in April – V Festival (Modest Mouse, Cut Copy and more recently added to the lineup), Matchbox 20 (if only to see if Rob Thomas takes his clothes off…it could happen), Henry Rollins, Foo Fighters (who will share their stage with Kaki Kim who impressed Perth lesbians as the opener for Tegan & Sara), and much, much, much more!
