Netflix has announced the Heartstopper Forever movie will arrive this July, but as Olivia Coleman was unavailable to reprise her role as Nick’s understanding mum, the part has been recast.
Fans have loved three series of the show that’s based on the graphic novels of Alice Oseman, and the story will come to an end with a movie that captures the action of the sixth and final book in the series.
The show has made stars of its young actors including Kit Connor, Joe Locke, Yasmin Feeney, and former co-star Sebastian Croft.

While most of the actor’s are returning for the film, one performer who could not make it is Olivia Coleman who played Nick’s understanding Mum in the first two seasons.
For the third season when Coleman was not available the writer’s adjusted the story so Nick was spending some time with his aunt, but they realised they couldn’t do the final stretch of the story without the character.
Instead the role will be taken over by Anna Maxwell Martin best known for her roles in Motherland, Line of Duty and Ludwig. Also joining the cast in an undisclosed role is Sir Derek Jacobi, one of Britain’s most acclaimed actors.
The film will arrive on 17 July and we’ll see Nick and Charlie navigating life’s big challenges, including the prospect of a long-distance relationship as they head off to college.
Lead actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke return as Nick and Charlie in Heartstopper Forever, alongside Yasmin Finney as Elle Argent, Will Gao as Tao Xu, Corinna Brown as Tara Jones, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson, Tobie Donovan as Isaac Henderson, Rhea Norwood as Imogen Heaney, Jenny Walser as Tori Spring, Fisayo Akinade as Mr. Ajayi, Nima Taleghani as Mr. Farouk, Leila Khan as Sahar Zahid, Bradley Riches as James McEwan, Darragh Hand as Michael Holden, and Eddie Marsan as Geoff Young.
