Dara has won the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song Bangaranga, securing Bulgaria’s first-ever Eurovision victory.

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest brought together 25 finalists and millions of viewers worldwide under the theme “United by Music”.

Votes were received from 148 countries across the participating nations and the Rest of the World, while the anniversary edition also celebrated 70 years of Eurovision with performances from iconic past contestants and major advances in sustainable live broadcast production.

Second place went to Israel’s song Michelle, performed by Noam Bettan, while third place was awarded to Alexandra Căpitănescu from Romania with Choke Me. Israel’s inclusion in the competition saw protests outside the venue and several countries boycotting the 2026 event.

Australia’s Delta Goodrem came in a respectable fourth place with her song Eclipse.

“Representing Australia on the Eurovision stage and being part of this incredible community has been unforgettable. I’m so grateful for all the love and support from home and around the world, it has carried me every step of the way.” Goodrem said after the show.

“Sharing Eclipse with you at this moment feels perfectly timed, and I’m excited to continue the journey we’ve started together and to share new music with you soon! From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

Grand Final votes were received from 148 countries, two more than in 2025, including the 35 nations that took part in the 70th contest. The anniversary celebration saw some of the most memorable performers from the event’s long history return to sing a medley of Eurovision hits.

The 2027 Eurovision Song Contest is now set to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Watch the Grand Finale on Sunday 17 May at 7.30pm on SBS and SBS On Demand.
