2006 Pride Committee Relieve Financial Woes

Following two terrible years of losses this year’s Pride Committee have made a substantial and timely contribution to turning the financial situation around, reporting a $16,777.50 profit for 2006.

Male Pride co-president John Gangell attributed Pride’s success to cost cutting across portfolios, describing the approach as “sticking to strict financial goals to enable comfortable transition to the next year of 2007”. Female Pride Co-President Laura Foster added “the Committee worked very hard to achieve this result and made some significant changes and met difficult challenges very well. I thank them for their hard work in bringing about this result.”

The annual report available online now at www.pridewa.asn.au asks some serious questions about the direction of Pride for the future. While acknowledging that Pride is an important part of the community this years committee have questioned the validity of two dance parties when other events such as the annual pride quiz night are more profitable.

Nominations for the new committee close at 5pm 9th February.

Pride WA Inc’s AGM is at Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth on Sunday 11th February at 2.00pm.
