A new comedy series produced by Elliot Page and Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire is ready to play ball.
Slo Pitch follows the story of coach Joanne Pico (Jess Salgueiro), as she leads her six-time losing team The Public Lass Brovaries into a new season.
As the games play out, Joanne is determined to turn the team’s fortunes around – while trying to navigate being dumped by her girlfriend, disastrous fundraising schemes and a chaotic crew of misfits.
Salguiero is joined in the main cast by Hampshire, alongside Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn and Emma Hunter.
The series also stars Chelsea Muirhead, Lane Webber, Khadijah Roberts-Abdullah and Amanda Cordner, with guest appearances from Varun Saranga, Laura De Carteret, Don MacLean Jr., Nadine Bhabha, Carolyn Taylor, Chris Locke, Chris Sandiford and Japanese softball superstar Ayami Sato, the first woman to play in a Canadian men’s professional baseball league.
Slo Pitch premieres on Friday 25 September on HBO Max.
