WAYJO, the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra will team up with singer Queency this November to celebrate Pride with a whole show titled Queer Anthems.
On 8 November WAYJO’s 18-piece Resonance Jazz Orchestra will transform iconic queer anthems into bold big band arrangements at The Rechabite.
Under the guidance of Artistic Director Gemma Farrell the performance will feature the music of artists such as Gloria Gaynor, The Weather Girls, Madonna, ABBA, Kylie Minogue and Chappell Roan, this one-night-only event promises a euphoric soundtrack for the queer community and its allies.
The young musicians will be joined on stage by singer and songwriter Queency, with the orchestra promising to deliver irresistible grooves, soaring brass and infectious energy in a night made for dancing, celebrating and living out loud.
