Australia may have just finished watching Kirby Bentley become the Queen of The Traitors, but new instalments of the international franchise are just around the corner.
Season 5 of the celebrity US version of the show is set to arrive in early 2027, and producers have announced several high-profile cast members. Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth will head to the Scottish castle alongside singer and athlete Cody Simpson, drag performer Bianca Del Rio, and actors Dominic Monaghan and Johnny Sibilly.
The US version has traditionally featured a mix of pop culture figures and reality television personalities. The remainder of the cast includes former contestants from The Bachelor, Survivor, Big Brother, and The Real Housewives franchises.
Host Alan Cumming will welcome 23 new contestants. The full cast includes Bianca Del Rio (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Boman Martinez-Reid (content creator), Bronwyn Newport (The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City), Casey Wilson (actor), Chloe Kim (Olympic snowboarder), Cody Simpson (singer), Craig Conover (Southern Charm), Cynthia Bailey (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Dominic Monaghan (actor), Emira D’Spain (Next Gen NYC), Gizelle Bryant (The Real Housewives of Potomac), Iain Stirling (comedian and Love Island narrator), Jag Bains (Big Brother and The Amazing Race), JaNa Craig (Love Island USA), Joey Graziadei (The Bachelor), Johnny Sibilly (actor), Kristin Chenoweth (actor and singer), Michele Fitzgerald (Survivor and The Challenge), Q Burdette (Survivor), Rachel Robinson (The Challenge), Rashad Jennings (former NFL player), Taylor Hale (Big Brother and The Amazing Race), and Whitney Leavitt (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives).
A US Series Featuring Everyday Contestants
Before the next celebrity season, there will be a new series featuring a cast made up entirely of everyday Americans. It will be the first US edition of the franchise to feature lawyers, dog walkers, and funeral directors rather than reality television stars.
Titled The Traitors: New Blood, the preview trailer suggests contestants may be hiding secrets. The Traitors: New Blood has now arrived on Network 10.
Celebrity Traitors UK Returns
Also taking up residence in the Scottish castle will be the contestants for the second season of Celebrity Traitors UK. Unlike the US version, which is experimenting with a cast of everyday people, the British franchise has traditionally featured members of the public. Last year’s celebrity edition proved to be a major success.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the first celebrity season saw Alan Carr successfully evade detection as a Traitor. Media reports suggested that some celebrities were initially hesitant to join the show, but following its success, interest in participating has increased significantly.
Actors Richard E. Grant, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart and Bella Ramsey are among the cast, alongside comedians James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Joanne McNally and Romesh Ranganathan.
Sebastian Croft, known for appearing in the television series Heartstopper and who has recently launched a music career, will also appear, as will You’re Beautiful singer James Blunt.
The cast also includes model and actor Jerry Hall. Hall was previously married to Rupert Murdoch and was formerly the long-term partner of Mick Jagger.
Additional participants include actors Sharon Rooney, Ross Kemp, Myha’la and Julie Hesmondhalgh; broadcasters Amol Rajan and Maya Jama; mathematician and broadcaster Professor Hannah Fry; content creator King Kenny; and singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
No premiere date has yet been announced, although the series is expected to air in October.
