Camp duo Haute and Freddy have shared a video for new song Film Noir.
Following the release of their acclaimed debut album Big Disgrace in March, an album which contained a massive seven singles, the duo are moving into their next era and wasting no time bringing fans more tunes.
Film Noir follows on from the release of Touch Touch back in August. The new song is a bit more sedate than some of their previous releases, but it comes with an appropriate black and white film noir-styled video.
Their work has an aesthetic reminiscent of a carnival and harks back to the visual styles that defined early 1980s bands such as Adam and the Ants and Culture Club. Their live performances incorporate clowns, stilt walkers and acrobats, while their dedicated fanbase is known as “The Royal Court”.
“It should come as no shock to The Royal Court that we wanted our Halloween offering to feel as though the Phantom himself created it,” the band said.
“Though no mere mortal could ever wear his mask, we can always try to conjure as much drama and lust into 3:48 seconds.”
Released alongside the new single is the band’s cover of Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes, which is featured in the Amazon Prime horror series Carrie.
Band members Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp previously found success writing songs for artists including Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue and Bebe Rexha before launching their own project.
The duo have also announced their first Australian tour, with shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in March 2027, as well as appearances at Golden Plains Festival in regional Victoria and WOMADelaide.
Unfortunately for Western Australian fans, there are currently no Perth dates on the schedule.
