May Hot Potatoes!

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (Thurs May 29, Seven-8pm) – Safe and somewhat bland, this American Sitcom has two major things going for it – Alyson Hannigan, (formerly Lesbian witch Willow on BUFFY) as Lily and Neil Patrick Harris as Barney. Gay actor Harris officially came out of the closet last year, and has left many a fan, myself included wondering, when did Doogie Howser become so seriously hot?!!

NIP/TUCK (Fri May 30, Nine-10:40pm) – Aussie ex-pat Julian MacMahon – very sexy in a weirdly plasticized way, like some kind of erotic ventriloquist’s dummy – is perfectly cast as the massively vain Doctor Christian Troy in this cult series that takes a blackly humorous look at the wart-removals-and-all comings and going of the Plastic Surgery industry. The show emphasizes the “comings” more than the goings. The show is also loaded with homoeroticism, especially between Christian and his (work) partner, Sean (Dylan Walsh).
