THE DEAD ZONE (Mon June 30, Nine-12:30am)

Sixth (and probably final) season of the excellent supernatural thriller series, based on both the 1979 book by Stephen King and the subsequent 1983 film by David Cronenberg. Journalist, John Smith (Anthony Michael Hall, taking over from the film’s Christopher Walken) possesses the extra-sensory power of Psychometry – the ability to see the past, present and future of a person just by touching an object they have touched. When Smith shakes hands with US Senator Greg Stillson (Sean Patrick Flannery, taking over from the film’s Martin Sheen), he sees an insane Stillson becoming President and triggering a nuclear war. Smith then makes it his business to stop Stillson from becoming President. If I were Smith, I’d probably spend the rest of my life sitting on my hands… but then again, considering where my butt has been, it’d still be vision city!
