Facebook Adds Gay Marriage Icon

Mark Zuckerberg has once again demonstrated his pro gay stance, adding to a Gay Marriage Icon to the Facebook timeline. Zuckerberg has previously shown his support for gay rights when Facebook added ‘Civil Union’ and ‘In a Domestic Partnership’ in 2011.  The icons, which show two grooms as well as two brides, will be available in the coming months.

Despite Zuckerberg’s attempts to encompass LGBT rights, transgender people are feeling left out of the loop.

‘People like me who don’t feel comfortable in the bodies in which we were born aren’t sure we want to be pegged as female or male,’ said CJ Kellman, from Huffington Post.

Sunil Babu Pant, the first openly gay member of the Nepalese parliament, is petitioning for Facebook to include an option for users who do not identify as either male or female.
