The people promoting Fred Nile’s Christian Democratic Party in their promotional materials are not really Australian voters, but stock images purchased from a well known image provider.

The image pictured above is one of a series of images the right wing political party has posted to their Facebook in recent days. The young man claims to be a business owner pledging support to the party but the image has been sourced from photo provider istock.

The image has previously been used by OUTinPerth. The identical image, but used in reverse, was the cover of our Media Pack in 2011.

The political parties use of the image may have violated the terms of use of istock. The image provider’s terms and conditions state the images cannot be used in a way that would make a reasonable person think that a person uses, or personally endorses, any business, product, service, cause, association or other endeavour.

The picture is one of a series. The others feature an older gentleman who claims to be unemployed and supporting the party and a single mother.

Fred Nile’s Christian Democratic Party was contacted for comment.
