“I do not want my kids to think that faggots are normal.”

Okhlobystin (pictured centre) is the star of a popular Russian sitcom that has been described as being similar to the US show ‘Scrubs’. During his talk Okhlobystin described gay people as being mentally abnormal and argued that they should not be allowed to vote.

Earlier this year Russia introduced laws which prohibit the promotion of ‘non-traditional’ relationships to people under 18 years of age. Since their introduction there have been growing repoerts of violence towards LGBT people in the country.
