SceneOUT #107

It seems that soul sucking is the new black. Forget plastic surgery. Forget cosmetic procedures. Forget stomach stapling, lap band surgery, chin implants or even a dash of Botox in your nightly dinner: if you really want to make yourself loved and endeared, then suck on some souls. Everybody who’s anybody is doing it. Slurp slurp.

OMG! Gay and lesbian Zumba classes?! True that. Be at Karrinyup Hall tonight from 6.30pm to get your groove thing on.

Barbie Q Coals returns to Connections this Saturday night, June 5, for a searing performance sure to be scintillating, titillating and all kinds of other grammatically congruent words rolling of the tongue, right on to the stage. It’s a hot spot, the kind that will touch you and burn the winter layers right off your skin. DJs for the evening include Tim Brown, Reuben and JJ while outside on the decks DJs Paul, Ben and Curlee make the winter all that much hotter.

Get ready to lay some fantastic foundations this Foundation Day weekend. It’s time for some big banging beats as DJ Adam Love flies in from Sydney’s Nevermind and Day Rising nightclubs. A Perth boy at heart, DJ Adam Love is getting set to make this return trip memorable and outrageous. Think big underground sounds driven with underground beats and rhythms. The night promises to be huge with part proceeds going to Pride WA. All happens this Sunday June 6 with doors open from 10pm. Entry $15 all night.

Get ready to vogue the best that you can because Attitude OZ are hitting the catwalk in style this month at Connections Nightclub. Headlining the fashion parade is label Babycakes who have some unbelievably cute graphic t’s and some really amazing accessories (think big pixel necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses and more). They also do those super cute slogan t’s OMG WE ARE THE CLUB KIDS which are sure to be the uniform of the night. Then there’s some fantastic fetish wear on display with amazing pieces from Patrice Catanzaro sure to make the final cut. Wrapping up the night will be a burlesque section, again filled with some amazing clothes. Simply be in the audience for your chance to win a complete outfit courtesy of Attitude OZ. Best part of the night? Hitting the runway will be some of the spunkiest members of our community. The show kicks off Saturday June 12 with more details – and clothes – available online at www.attitudeaustralia.com

Cough cough. Feeling a little ill? A little under the weather? Then it’s time to play Doctors and Nurses when Spank hits Connections for a little medical fun. So dress up and get that stethoscope warm because it’s going to be going into some cold places. If you’re looking for some inspiration dress-up wise then head over to For Play And Pleasure over on Bulwer Street in Highgate or visit them online at www.forplayandpleasure.com.au. The night heats up with a $250 first prize on offer for the best dressed. Will that be you? Only one way to find out. All happens Saturday June 19. Be there or book a hospital bed instead.

Love Sunday’s turns 1 on Sunday June 20. Now mOther isn’t exactly sure what’s happening here. Feminem promised until she was blue in the face that she’d have a press release in by like… last Friday… but do you think I got one!? Nope. Well… let me tell you what I think the night will be like. It’ll be huge, naturally. There will be so many amazing cocktails that you won’t know where to stick your straw first. There will be DJ Feminem, with loads of new music and possibly some kinda big kick ass weave on her head. Does DJ Johnni P still play there? I’m going to imagine that he does, and that he’ll be there that night, and that he’ll play some killer tracks. I’m also going to imagine that I’m there in some kinda fantastic get-up, getting into the party vibe with a shoe on my head. They’ll also give me a huge bar-card, for being so fabulous. See what happens when you don’t get a press release in?!? Happy First Birthday Love Sundays!!!

On Thursday June 24, MANtini at The Court Hotel kicks off, and as the name suggests it’s more than just candy for the mouth. It’s a men only night filled with hot bartenders, hot drinks, hot dancers… and plenty of reasons to get steamy. Make sure you’re there at The Court’s Red Bar because this is going to be barechested fun. Doors open 8pm until midnight

They’re back! Climaxx Dance Party is all ready to return in a blaze of glory this coming July. It’s a White Party sure to be a blinding disco light of fun with DJ Dan Murphy hitting the decks. Support will come from DJs Rob Blandford and Paul Mcance. Doors open 10pm with the party going all night until 6am. Tickets are $50 each and are available online from www.climaxx.com.au. It all happens Saturday July 10.

Now go and write me a press release, just for kicks,

Big love

mOther
