Visiting Angels Provide Support for Older LGBT People

Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services has launched a program aimed to help LGBTI and culturally diverse older people who may be experiencing social isolation.

The program comes under the Community Visitors Scheme and is delivered throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

The program provides volunteer visitors for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex people.

The program provides fortnightly visits to older people who are supported by the Commonwealth funded Home Care Packages.
