Jordan Sloan, 23, was taking an Uber cab home on New Year’s Eve with his boyfriend Corey Watts. The couple told The Mirror that the driver stopped the cab and asked them to get out after driving for only a few minutes, during which time they kissed.

“I asked him, ‘Are you making us get out because we are gay?'” Sloan said.

“He said, ‘No, I pick up gay customers all the time but they don’t do that.'”

The couple complained to Uber, stating that his reaction had taken them by surprise.

“I’m not naive. I know there’s homophobia but London is one of gayest cities in the world.” said Sloan.

An Uber spokesperson told The Mirror it had launched an investigation.

“Uber does not tolerate any form of discrimination either by our partner drivers or towards our partner drivers,” he said.
