Madonna’s Confessions II continues to earn critical acclaim and industry recognition. She has received 11 nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, the most of any artist in the 2026 field.
It marks the first time Madonna has led the nominations since 1998, when she released her Ray of Light album. She was also the leading nominee in 1990, the year she received a nomination for the top award with Vogue. On both occasions, she earned nine nominations, making this year’s total a career best.
Her 14-minute video featuring six tracks from her latest album has been nominated for Video of the Year. Madonna is also nominated for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for Bring Your Love, which is additionally nominated for Collaboration of the Year for her partnership with Sabrina Carpenter.
The video is also nominated for Best Dance Video, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography, and Best Visual Effects.
The VMAs will take place on 27 September in Los Angeles.
