Frontier touring have announced that Sam Smith has been forced to cancel all of his remaining tour dates.

The singer has been ordered by doctors to stop singing or risk long term damage to his vocal chords.

The singer will miss out on being a guest of honour at Sunday night’s Logie Awards and won’t be able to play his Monday night show at the Perth Arena.

“I am deeply, deeply saddened to tell my Australian fans, I have to cancel my Australian tour. I have been vocally exhausted for a while now however last night in Sydney I had a small hemorrhage on my vocal chords. The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal chords have healed, otherwise this could become a huge long-term issue. I am so sorry to all who have bought tickets, I truly am. This kills me.”

The concert promoters are working with Smith’s team to schedule new dates for his tour and hope to announce some December dates shortly.

Patrons who bought tickets via credit cards should receive an automatic refund in 7 days, other should return to the place of purchase for a refund. Cancelled show ticket holders who purchased their tickets from the authorised outlets of Ticketek and Ticketmaster will be offered a first purchase option on the new tour.
