SceneOUT #111

Dear children,

I’m super, thanks for asking.

She may be the Sue Sylvester backstage in her little world, but I’m the real Sue Sylvester, bitch. And I never sent my Cheerios out looking like that!

Which Asian sensation has inherited a whole sample clearance of Grandma Kylie’s boots and knickers. An odd ensemble, yes, but at least there will be a whole heap of tragic and distraught trannies who’ll finally have something to tuck their bits into and can feel famous doing it… if by crust alone. As for Giselle, she’s got her some killer boots. Sparkle sparkle.

Children, if one more person says Pride Fairday has been cancelled, I will stab them. It hasn’t been cancelled. I realise the Pride Guide isn’t the easiest literary tome to digest but it does clearly state Pride Fairday is happening Saturday October 9. At Russell Square. You will have to pay an entry fee, but it’s open later, longer and with lights, so pack a super hamper and stay out of the sun. Fairday. October 9, 11am until 9pm. Remember the 9’s children. Happy Pride!

Spank gets one over Connections Nightclub post Fairday, Saturday October 9, with Shameless proudly presenting Domination. Killer heels, subs, whips, harnesses, collars, nipple clamps… the usual mill for all those who like the curve of their kink and the way their fetish feels in the darkly sweaty confines of the dance floor. There is a cash prize of $250 for the best outfit. Get yours on and get dancing.

Or, if you’re looking for something a little more vanilla, The Court Hotel serve up an After Fair Party filled with twinks and donut holes. Doors open from 4pm with dinner specials all night long and live bands abound. Camp.

Queen of The Court returns this Pride, happening every Thursday night during October. Enter to win yourself glamour, recognition and respect. Well, a spot on the Pride float at least.

Bar Bitch Chew Art – check out my full scandalous expose on Page 17. The truth of this night will shock and offend. It will drive you insane. It will redefine the very existence of this world and your place in it. Expect Scott-Patrick Mitchell, Strykermeyer, Ash Baroque, Pussy, Anne-Marie Therese, Giselle and many more. It all happens at Bar 459. Prepare to be shocked, offended and appalled… if you miss it that is. Yes, non-attendance will result in mass disappointment because this is set to be the most memorable night around. Free entry to Connections afterwards included.

Disco Incorrecto happens twice in the coming month and promises to be wrong, wrong, wrong. The first one kicks off at Seizan Karaoke Bar on Friday October 15 and will be some outrageous fun. Cinnamon, Curlee, Paul Payne and Rob dB will all be on hand to serve up something kooky. Jump forward to Sunday October 24 and the same crew will be causing havoc over at the Civic Hotel Backroom. Get ready to go a little nuts!

Closet Cabaret is a night where drag meets burlesque with Voix de la Ville combining forces with Sugar Blue Burlesque at The Bakery. This night should be something rather special with all manner of madness taking place. Giselle and Strykermeyer are sure to steal the show. Happens Wednesday October 27.

The Court Hotel serve up their infamous Street Party on Saturday October 30. Paul Mac will be headlining with Sarah McLeod, Nacho Pop and Mobin Master all making an appearance. It promises to be a huge night.

Happening just down the road on the same night is the Official Pride After Party, Neon Ballroom, which is set to be huge. A full scandalous expose appears on Page 39, outlining details of how this party will serve itself across four spaces. These include upstairs, The Terrace, an outside garden and the downstairs Plaka space, which is being transformed into The Neon Ballroom. All manner of performance art will be taking place as well as DJs Michy T, Johnni P, Reuben and Cinnamon all making an appearance. One word – massive. Four spaces kids. FOUR SPACES. Be there to see them all. Tickets $45 pre-sale.

Happy Pride!

Love
