Joel Creasey to host WA Screen Awards

Joel CreaseyComedian Joel Creasey has been selected to host the 27th Annual West Australian Screen Awards (WASAs) being held in Perth this July.

“I’m so excited to return home to host the WA Screen Awards. I’m going to approach the night in the way Meryl Streep approaches an acceptance speech – confident, breathy and a little smug”.

Joel was able to charm the nation from afar as he competed on Australia’s inaugural season of ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’, then returned home to sell out performances of his stand-up tour ‘The Hurricane’.

The WASAs honour West Australian screen culture, celebrating those who create television, feature and short films, web series, games, documentaries and music videos. The awards will be held in conjunction with Revelation Perth International Film Festival (July 2 – 12).

Joel will be hosting the WASAs on Monday 29th June at Heath Ledger Theatre. Tickets available June 9 from www.ticketek.com.au
