Outdoor Cinemas

Luna Outdoors is situated in the courtyard next to the Luna Cinema in Oxford Street, Leederville. It commences its summer season of films on Thursday 16 December with the WA premiere of L’Immortal (22 Bullets) pictured above. Inspired by the true story of French gangster Jacques ‘Jacky le Mat’ Imbert, this film is a violent mob thriller. It features Jean Reno as a retired gangster who is gunned down and left for dead in an underground car park in Marseille. His trail of revenge is full of adrenaline-charged action that uses a lot more that 22 bullets.

Luna Outdoors is a licensed venue with food available, or you can get something in Oxford Street before the film. As well as premium beers and wine, they have an Outdoor Summer Survival Pack (with antipasto, dips, cheeses, crackers and olives), or you can pack a picnic (but no BYO alcohol). Some nights, such as the opening night on 16 December, include pre-screening entertainment with complimentary pizza, beer and wine. Doors open at 7pm. Check out www.lunapalace.com.au for details or pick up a program.

Camelot Outdoor Cinema in Lochee St, Mosman Park opens on Thursday 9 December with The Girl Who Played With Fire (MA). Films only run for a couple of screenings so keep an eye on the dates if you want to catch up with Eat Pray Love, RED, The Town, Wild Target, The Social Network, the New Zealand film Boy or the British comedy Wild Target. Again, www.lunapalace.com.au has all the details.

Camelot has a licensed bar and you can take a picnic or pick up some wood-fired pizza, sushi or stir-fry at the venue. Doors open at 6.30pm and, on Wednesdays, live entertainment from jazz, blues or folk music groups adds to the atmosphere. Check out the privilege card that gets you in for $11.
