RPDR's Tyra Sanchez: "No sympathy for people that commit suicide"

tyrasanchezWinner of the second season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, Tyra Sanchez, has come under fire for a series of tweets and social media posts chiding individuals who struggle with mental health issues and suicidal tendencies.

Sanchez, who describes herself as America’s Sweetheart, tweeted that she has “no sympathy for people that commit suicide,” calling them “cowards.”

The controversial winner has drawn the ire of fellow ‘Drag Race’ alum, including season 6 contestants Darienne Lake and Joslyn Fox.

The usually affable Fox addressed the issue on Facebook, simply writing “Unliked. Unfollowed. Unfriended. Unsistered.” with the accompanying hashtags #suicidesurvivor and #SuicidePrevention.

Lake also took to Facebook, tagging Sanchez directly in her appeal.

If you jump from a burning building, are you a coward? You see, Tyra Sanchez, sometimes suicide seems like the better…

Tyra Sanchez was crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar in 2011, beating out runners-up Raven and Jujubee for the second title of RuPaul’s reality competition.
