Pixie was previously a member of British band Violet, but now she’s gone solo and released her debut album I’m Yours.

The first single of the album Woman Go Wild is a beautiful subtle ballad, and the music video for the track features a same sex romance.

Geldof’s album has been produced by Tony Hoffer who has previously worked with a stack of artists including Air, The Kooks, The Thrills, Beck, Supergrass, M83, Seude and Belle and Sebastian.

The Guardian described Pixie’s album as “subtly poignant orchestral pop” comparing it to Mazzy Star and classic 70’s country and folk rock.

The singer’s life has been filled with more than her fair share of tragedy. When she was six years old her parent’s split up when her mother, TV presenter and occasional singer Paula Yates, moved in with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.

Hutchence died just two years later, his death ruled a suicide. When she was 10 years old her mother passed away from an accidental drug overdose. Paula Yates death came on  the day of Pixie’s 10th birthday.

In 2014 her elder sister Peaches, who had lead a successful career as a model and newspaper columnist, died of a heroin overdose.

Recently in interviews Pixie has spoken about what it was like growing up under the constant glaze of the paparazzi.
