This year marks the first since the celebrations re-branded from the MTV Movie Awards, and removed gendered categories for individuals in the running for recognition.

Workaholics star and host Adam Devine presented the award to the drag-focused reality program, which is now celebrating nine years on television.

This marks RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s second prestigious accolade since RuPaul received an Emmy last year for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

Also honoured during the evening were Moonlight stars Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome for Best Kiss, and Emma Watson was presented the first ever gender-neutral acting award for her role in Beauty and the Beast by non-binary actor Asia Kate Dillon.
