Orton will kick off her run at the Rosemount Hotel on Wednesday 7th June. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 9am local time.

The tour will see the singer will perform with a full band for the first time in Australia in many years playing songs spanning her celebrated career from Trailer Park, Central Reservation, Daybreaker, Comfort of Strangers and Sugaring Season through to her 2016 album Kidsticks.

Orton spoke to OUTinPerth back in 2013 and told us she’s never been a career focused musician, she just makes music because she likes to.

When she first appeared on the music scene Orton was part of the folktronica wave that often saw her collaborating with artists including William Orbit, Four Tet and Red Snapper.

A few albums into her career Orton started putting out records that abandoned the electronic element, and focused more on a traditional folk sound.

Having relocated to California a couple of years ago, Beth began experimenting with a series of electronic loops that would eventually come together as her career-redefining new album; a record inspired both by the wide-open nature of Los Angeles and the spirit of Beth’s earliest recordings (electronic work with producers like William Orbit, Andrew Weatherall and Kieran Hebden as well as groove-based music with Red Snapper).

Her latest release sees the musician re-embraces an electronic sound. Co-produced by Orton and Fuck Button’s Andrew Hung, Kidsticks sees Orton returning to a sound that her fans love.
