Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s youngest daughter has thrown her support behind a YES vote in the postal survey on marriage, releasing a video with the Yes Campaign.

Frances Abbott, who drew attention last week for posting her support for the YES campaign on her Instagram account, has shared her desire to attend her aunt Christine Forster’s wedding.

“You can’t help who you fall in love with,” Abbott begins.

“Love just happens sometimes and it’s unexpected and that’s kind of what’s the awesome thing about it.”

Abbott continues to say that her aunt, Tony Abbott’s sister and Sydney City Councillor Christine Forster, didn’t plan to fall for her partner Virginia.

“It never really changed anything, she was still Aunty Chris. She’s still going to be at Christmas, she’s still going to be at family barbecues. Her children are still my cousins,” Abbott continues.

“This is why it really doesn’t make sense to me that it’s still not allowed.”

Forster has been a vocal opponent to her brother’s active position against marriage equality, calling out the former PM on her social media accounts.

“Well I think it’s well known that within my family we have people who sit on the other side of that fence,” Abbott said of her father.

“My mother and father raised me to stand up for what I believe in. I posted that picture on Instagram to show this is what I think is right.”

“In my post I said I am not interested in politics… but this is more than politics.”
