The Hollywood Reporter shared an accusation from former male model Scott R. Brunton who said acted inappropriately back in 1981.

Brunton, who was 23 at the time, said he became friends with Takei who he met in a gay bar. After the young man split up with his boyfriend he said he found Takei to be a supportive friend who often took him out to dinner and the theatre. At the time the Star Trek actor would have been in his early 40’s.

The former model said he visited Takei’s apartment one night, after feeling the affects of an alcoholic drink he sat down in a beanbag, and must have passed out. Brunton said when he woke up Takei was attempting to remove his clothing and was groping him.

The Star Trek actor has responded via social media and denied the claim he ever acted inappropriately.

Takei said he was shocked and bewildered at the claims and said they simply did not occur. The actor said he had no recollection of Brunton.

“I do take these claims very seriously,” Takei said.

“Right now it is a he said / he said situation, over alleged events nearly 40 years ago. But those that know me understand that non-consensual acts are so antithetical to my values and my practices, the very idea that someone would accuse me of this is quite personally painful.”

Since the explosive report about Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was published over a month ago there has been a flood of revelation and accusations about actors, producers and directors in Hollywood.

While most of the reports have focused on women, there have also been a series of accusations about men acting inappropriately.

Actor Kevin Spacey’s career is in tatters after he responded to claims from actor Anthony Rapp that he’d tried to seduce Rapp when he was a fourteen year old. Spacey said he had no recollection of the incident Rapp described.

Writer and Producer Gary Goddard has denied accusations made by actor Anthony Edwards that he molested Edwards and several of his friends when they were teenagers.

Actor Charlie Sheen has also denied that he sexually abused actor Corey Haim when The Lost Boys star was a teenager. Haim’s mother has also spoken out saying she did not believe the claims regarding Sheen. Haim died in 2010, after his death fellow actor Corey Feldman revealed both he Haim had been sexually abused early in their careers.
