The show which was created by Bevan Lee has become favourite with Australian audiences with its plotlines filled with mystery, intrigue, deception and a solid dose of repressed sexuality.

Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh said the series still had a lot of stories to share.

“Foxtel is very proud of A Place to Call Home, the series is beautifully written, produced, directed and portrayed by some of Australia’s best creative talent. It’s a very special Australian story crafted by series creator Bevan Lee and our producing partners Seven Studios.

“There are still some stories involving our central characters that are waiting to be told and I think Season 6 will build on the incredible success that we are enjoying with the current season on air,” Walsh said.

The drama boasts on of the most impressive casts on Australian television with Marta Dusseldorp and Noni Hazlehurst, along with Brett Climo, Abby Earl, Craig Hall, Sara Wiseman, Jenni Baird, Tim Draxl, Frankie J Holden, Deborah Kennedy, Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood and David Berry.

The current season is on Foxtel and is building up to it’s finale which will air on Christmas Eve, this year the show jumped forward four years and gave all the characters a new lease of life.
