The third annual Out for Australia Role Model Awards are being held this year, and a call out has been made for nominations.

Created by Out for Australia, a national mentorship organisation for LGBTIQ students and young professionals, the Out for Australia Role Model Awards aim to celebrate and honour role models across the national LGBTIQ community, regardless of whether they’re a student, newly starting their careers or a veteran professional.

As Out for Australia CEO Luke Furness explains, “The LGBTIQ community is diverse not just in gender identity and sexual orientation, but also in professional experience and potential. Our awards celebrate the unique contributions of those who have helped everyday LGBTIQ people feel they can be their authentic self at work and in their careers.”

Three awards are available in 2018, those being student, young professional and established professional. Past award winners include WA student Simon Thuijs, NSW young professionals KateMcLaren & Chelsea McPhail-Rosenberg and QLD established professional David Mahon.

Nominations for the 2018 awards are open until January 31st and can be found here.
