The Fringe Festival is back and Hans “the the Boy Wonder from Berlin”, helped to kick it off in style with Mein Camp, a “Kylie Minogue style spectacular on a Dannii Minogue budget”.

In his quest for total world domination he began the show in truly politically incorrect style by acknowledging the traditional owners of this land…mining magnates Twiggy and Gina Rinehart.

Hans has already been named the winner of the Best Cabaret award at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe and he is rolling his plan out around the world as a self-proclaimed one man hottest 100.

Backed by a live band (The Ungrateful Bastards) Hans belts out disco and pop classics like Mighty Real, Like a Prayer and even skewers Donald Trump with Money Money Money (it’s a rich man’s world).

A multi-talented performer Hans is equally adept flying solo on the microphone or seated behind a keyboard and even adds a German influence to some to the songs with the piano accordion.

The musical numbers are spliced with cheeky banter and some audience interaction that literally had one older gentleman running for the exit.

The performance on Monday January 29 will be Auslan interpreted which ought to create quite the challenge for the interpreter, with Hans’ colourful language and rapid fire delivery.

Having clearly done his audience research and the one liners were perfectly tailored to the opening night audience; comparing Andrew Bolt to Hitler and suggesting that Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch look like a Giraffe eating a sultana.

If a night of sequins, sly humour and occasional public humiliation is your idea of a top night out then Mein Camp is a Fringe show not to be missed.

Hans is easily one of the funniest performers to be featured by the festival in years that will have you partying like it’s 1939.

It’s Hitler Baby, One More Time.

Hans: Mein Camp will be in the Pleasure Gardens until February 1st. For tickets and more information head to fringeworld.com.au
