“Has political correctness gone mad?”, that’s the question Western Australia’s Equal Opportunity Commission will be asking in an upcoming discussion.
The discussion was planned to coincide with Human Rights Day last December but had to be postponed. Now the event will be taking place on Thursday 15th March at the State Library.
“Thursday 15 March is the beginning of Harmony Week here in Western Australia so it is the perfect time to reschedule an event like this,” said Acting WA Equal Opportunity Commissioner Dr John Byrne.
On the panel will be the former state politician Peter Abetz, who is now the state director of the Australian Christian Lobby, federal Labor MP Dr Anne Aly, UWA professor and commentator for The Australian Peter van Onselen and former President of the Human Rights Commission Dr Gillian Triggs.
The event will see the panel members answering questions put forward by the audience.
