The Celebrity Traitors
There’s multiple versions of The Traitors – but arguably the best iteration is the UK’s Celebrity Traitors which was gripping viewing during it’s first season in 2025.
Now the trailer for this year’s edition is here, Claudia’s got amazing outfits, the castle looks imposing and a new crop of famous faces are heading to Scotland.
Actors Richard E. Grant, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart and Bella Ramsey are in the cast, as are comedians James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Joanne McNally and Romesh Ranganathan. Sebastian Croft, who appeared in the TV series Heartstopper and who has recently launched a music career will be there, as will Your Beautiful hitmaker James Blunt.
Model and actor Jerry Hall has signed on. You’ll also find actors Sharon Rooney, Ross Kemp, Myha’la, and Julie Hesmondhalgh. Broadcasters Amol Rajan, Maya Jama, Professor Hannah Fry are onboard, and the cast is rounded out by content creator King Kenny and singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
The Airport Chaplain
Australian series The Airport Chaplain has recently arrived on SBS and its a great show. The amazing Hugo Weaving plays Tobias Wallace, who solves all sorts of problems for a wide range of people in transit, often breaking, or at least bending, the rules. Into his world comes new airport administrator Mira Ansari-Cole, played by Sabana Azeez.
We had no idea Abeez, who plays student doctor Victoria Javadi in The Pitt, was Australian. Also in the cast is the fabulous Claudia Karvan, and Thomas Weatherall. The show screens on SBS locally and Netflix internationally. The episodes are only 30 minutes each so this is a great binge view.
The Guilded Age
Here’s your first look at Season 4 of The Gilded Age. The new season will arrive on HBO Max in November and will consist of 8 episodes.
While the series stars Carrie Coon, Cynthia Nixon, and Christine Baranski are back for battles in class warfare, there’s an impressive list of new arrivals and guest stars for the new series too. Taylor Trensch, James Scully, Dennis Haysbert, Neal Huff, and Bonnie Milligan will have recurring roles. Jim Gaffigan, Dallas Roberts, Elizabeth Marvel and Andrew Burnap will all be guest stars.

Star Trek: Strange New World
The new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is rolling out with a new episode each week. This season each episode is themed slightly differently, one’s been a black and white film noir mystery, another has played like a disaster film, and an episode that was riffing on The Hangover was laugh-out-loud funny.
The approach has drawn scorn from some diehard Star Trek fans, but we’ve been loving it. A recent episode saw the cast transformed into puppets, it was brilliant! They really are boldly going where this show has never gone before – at least not without a holodeck. We’ve had a sneak peak at upcoming episode and there’s more surprises coming up!
Adults
The second season of Adults has just arrived. The show follows a group of young friends in Queens, New York who share a house. There’s eight new adventures of Samir, Billie, Issa, Anton and Paul Baker.
A Different World
It’s quite a surprise that US sitcom A Different World is being revived for a next generation continuation. The show began in 1987 as a spin-off from The Cosby Show showing daughter Denise Huxtable, played by Lisa Bonet, heading off to Hillman College.
When Bonet eloped and married boyfriend Lenny Kravitz and then fell pregnant after the first season she was written out of the show. She briefly returned to The Cosby Show but was fired in 1991 over “creative differences”. A Different World rejigged and continued on without it’s central character, putting secondary characters Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne in the spotlight.
The show ran for six seasons and featured Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison. Along the way Marisa Tomei, Sinbad, Cree Summer, Loretta Devine, and Jada Pinkett Smith were members of the cast, and it has an impressive list of guest stars including Lena Horne, Diahann Carroll, Patti LaBelle, Robert Guillaume, Halle Berry, Richard Roundtree, and Whoopi Goldberg.
The revised series stars Maleah Joi Moon as Deborah Wayne, the daughter of Whitley Gilbert-Wayne and Dwayne Wayne. Jamine Guy and Kadeem Hardison also return with many of the original cast members.
Blue Lights
Gritty police series Blue Lights is coming back with a fourth series taking us back to the streets of Belfast. It looks like all our favourite characters are back for another shift on the front lines of law and order. If you’ve never seen this excellent series catch up on the first three seasons on SBS OnDemand.
