Kenny Jones is on of the faces of the I’M ON campaign, a collaboration between subscription service Pink Parcel and Bloody Good Period, an organisation that provides sanitary products to those who can’t afford them, such as asylum seekers.

“During my transition I did have to deal with experiencing periods each month and many of the negative stereotypes that can come along with it,” Jones said.

“Assuming periods are inhibiting to people tends to perpetuate period shame even more, and makes people even more reluctant to talk about them.”

Jones says that society’s hesitation to speak openly about periods made him want to keep his a secret.

“We need to encourage everyone to talk about periods, whether they experience them directly or not. Sparking conversation is the first step to normalising periods within society.”

Jones adds that he hopes the campaign will help trans men feel able to speak openly about their own periods.

Research conducted by Pink Parcel revealed that only 8% of online information regarding periods represented the trans and gender diverse community.

Jones joins journalists Pandora Sykes & Dolly Alderton, fashion designer Olivia Rubin and stylist Natalie Lee in fronting I’M ON. £5 from each campaign t-shirt sale will be donated to Bloody Good Period to help them continue to assist asylum seekers in accessing sanitary products.
