Variety has announced that a project is being pitched to potential producers and all five original members have signed off on the idea.

Victoria Beckham (Posh), Emma Bunton (Baby), Melanie Brown (Scary), Geri Horner (Ginger) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty) will all be transformed into cartoon heroes, each with a unique superpower that connects with their pop personalities.

Last year, a reunion of the ladies was hotly rumoured to be on the horizon – could this film what fans were waiting for?

The quintet were last seen on the big screen in 1997’s cult hit Spice World, and last performed together at London’s 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
