A peaceful oasis on the city's doorstep

Nestled on the Maylands Peninsula this stunning three bedroom home is an entertainer’s dream with a grand entrance, stylish living spaces and a swimming pool.

With birds chirping outside and the river, parks, and cycleways just metres away, it’s hard to believe that this home is just a short drive, walk or ride from the city centre. For many years it’s been home to Jenny Seaton, one of Perth’s most loved radio and television hosts.

“There are so many good things about living in Maylands.” Jenny told us when we dropped by for a cup of green tea. “Where we are, the river is directly opposite, you can walk and cycle all the way round to East Perth.

The house has a dramatic sweeping staircase at the entrance that leads on to an open plan living space that would be perfect for dinner parties and beyond there is a low maintenance courtyard garden with a generous sized swimming pool and barbeque.

Upstairs there’s three bedrooms with built in wardrobes, one which would also work as a perfect home office and there’s a massive tub in the bathroom.

“I’ve always thought of it an apartment with extras,” Jenny said. “It’s not a huge family home, but I think it’s suitable for a couple who like to entertain. The outdoor area is just gorgeous in summer and at night the lights in the pool are magical.”

Jenny jokes that she’s always felt very safe in the home because the police dog handling unit and tactical response group are just around the corner. “It’s quite nice to sit out the front and watch them all jogging by!”

The house is just around the corner from Tranby House, who do a sensational afternoon tea and the Peninsula Golf Course is also just a short walk away. Within a just a few minutes drive are the bars, cafes and shopping of Eighth Avenue and Whatley Crescent, meaning that this peaceful property is perfectly positioned for a busy social life.

37 Hardey Street, Maylands is for sale through Mi Casa Property Boutique, find out all the details at Mi Casa Property.
