The Margaret River Chocolate Company celebrates its 20th Birthday this month and is hosting family friendly fun days at its Swan Valley and Margaret River factories on Sunday May 19.

The events will run between 10-2pm and aim to recognise the long-standing support of the local communities who have helped make the company a Western Australian tourism icon.

In addition to their legendary free tastings and lots of birthday giveaways the company has Nova’s Casanovas at its Swan Valley factory, while in Margaret River the Margaret River Independent School, who will be holding a sausage sizzle and The Natural Learning Centre Margaret River will be running nature based activities.

Co-owner Martin Black said it was amazing to think that the company had been part of the WA community for 20 years and it wanted to celebrate with the people that supported the business from the start.

He said while the company was visited by hundreds of thousands of international and interstate visitors each year, it was the people of Western Australia who had supported the business from the start and grown-up with the company.

“Twenty years ago we started this small business in an old dairy paddock in Margaret River and now it is one of Western Australia’s most recognised tourism drawcards,” Black said.

“We can’t thank the people of Western Australia enough for supporting us and embracing our products.

“This is a celebration for the community as much as it is for us and our amazing staff”.

The Margaret River Chocolate Company’s Swan Valley and Margaret River factories are open every day of the year from 9-5, except Christmas Day. They will feature a series of ongoing promotions and events throughout the 20th birthday year.
