Kygo breathes new life into a long forgotten Whitney Houston recording

Whitney Houston

Producer Kygo has brought new life to a long forgotten Whitney Houston tune turning Higher Love into a gospel filled tropical house celebration.

Houston recorded the the Steve Winwood track back in the early 1990s but it only appeared as a bonus track on the Japanese version of her third album I’m Your Baby Tonight. The song had been a huge hit for British rock singer Steve Winwood in 1986.

The album saw Houston attempting to make a more dance focussed album and she teamed up with producers LA Reid and Babyface for the project. The recording of Higher Love though took a more traditional approach and was produced by Narada Michael Walden who had worked with her on her previous albums.

Check out the revived tune.
