Darren Hayes teams up with Cub Sport for new tune

It’s been seven years since Darren Hayes from Savage Garden released any new sounds, but this week he returns to the world of music when he teams up with Aussie band Cub Sport.

Hayes told his Twitter followers that he couldn’t resist the offer to collaborate with the band when he heard the song they’d written.  Hayes described the band as ‘magical” and said the song is one that “transcends”.

The single I Never Cried So Much In My Whole Life is out on Wednesday and will have its debut on youth network Triple J this afternoon.

Hayes has previously shared that he’s big fan of Cub Sport and showed up their gig in Los Angeles earlier this year. The Savage Garden singer is based in LA where he has been studying comedy and improv and fulfilling his lifelong dream of writing a musical

Tim Nelson from Cub Sport has described Hayes as a trailblazer for be open about his sexuality and has dreamed of working with the singer for many years.
