Speaking to Allure magazine Beals said the new series continues to have the central theme of ‘found family’.

“I think the theme of chosen family plays out in almost all of the storylines, truly.” Beals told the magazine.

Beals says that her character has matured over the decade that passed off-screen and Bette is now a little more grounded, before hinting that maybe that’s all a facade.

There’s high expectations ahead of the premiere of the rebooted show, which joins a swarm of programs returning to our screens with mixed results. Will and Grace, Beverly Hills 90210, Murphy Brown, Roseanne and Twin Peaks have all recently returned after long periods off-air.
