Bears Perth Festive Offerings

What’s happening with the Bears over the coming Festive Season? Hibernation is definitely over and summer is now upon us. This was made apparent when we held our Octobearfest Den Night recently and saw the largest group of men to ever attend a Bears Perth event.

A week after that a magnificent sleuth of Bears imitating the Village People came together to dance their way through Northbridge. They left such an impression that they even managed to win the trophy for ‘Best Marching Group’ in this year’s Pride Parade.

Two weeks after that, Bears Perth, Pride and the West Australian Aids Council, all came together to support Connections Night Club as they launched the inaugural Mr Leather WA competition. The event was a huge success and it was great to see different community groups working together.

As for what’s coming up. Summer is full of pool parties, hot summer den nights around the bar or on the verandah overlooking the city skyline from Loton Park Tennis Club and more. Our ‘End of Year’ Den Night is on this Saturday December 11. Then on Sunday the 12th come join a sloth of Bears as they gather for what is one of our biggest social events of the year, the Bears Perth Xmas Pool Party BBQ. It’s held at a venue that’s close to town. Santa will be making an appearance with gifts and good cheer for everyone and all are welcome.

As for the first Den Night of 2011, it is on Saturday January 8. The next day another pool party and on Friday January 28 we have our Australiana Den Night.

Finally, after the success of our first Bear Festival in March this year, stay alert for BEAR WEST March 24 – 27, 2011. This will now include the return after 15 years, of our very own Mr Bear WA. Check our website www.bearsperth.org for updates or just keep picking up your copy of OUTinPerth, who are huge supporters of the Bears.

Now on behalf of Bears Perth, I’d like to wish you and yours a safe and very merry Christmas, with all the best to each of you for the coming year.

Big Hugz
