Parti Quebecois (PQ) moved from the official opposition party to the third party in Quebec. Party leaders have said homophobia may have been partly responsible for the poor showing in the election. Andre Boisclair, PQs leader, is an openly gay man and his sexuality became an attacking point for other parties in March’s provincial elections.
