Dive into the local music scene with RTRFM’s In the Pines

Head down to community radio station RTRFM’s In the Pines concert on Sunday 18 April and see 20 local bands take to the stage.

The chilled out, family friendly event, is the biggest day on the local music calendar and it raises essential funds for the community radio station.

This year is the annual event’s thirty-third outing, and an impressive line-up of local bands have donated their energy to the concert.

Tickets to this iconic event often sell-out so grab yours ahead of the big day. In the Pines is held at the Somerville Auditorium on the grounds of the University of Western Australia.

RTRFM is The Sound Alternative: an independent, non-profit community radio station in WA that provides an alternative voice for Boorloo and beyond through innovative music and talks programming.

Founded in 1977, they take pride in being a platform for local news and issues, with a strong focus on the arts, culture, social justice, politics and the environment. The station has hosted a range of LGBTIQA+ specific and adjacent programs over the years from the legendary E.T.H.O.S. to Sheer Queer and Open Closets. Since 2010 the station has host the weekly program All Things Queer.

OUTinPerth co-editor Graeme Watson is a volunteer presenter at RTRFM 92.1 and a former employee of the station.
