CD Review: Awe Naturale

THEESatisfaction
Sub Pop

Seattle hip hop duo THEESatisafaction’s debut album is sublime. If you’re a lover of Shabazz Palaces or 90’s hip hop heroes like Digable Planets, Arrested Development or a Tribe Called Quest – this is an album that’ll be a great soundtrack to the last days of summer. The partnership of female rappers Stas and Cat, who are also romantically involved, has created one of the most laid back and smooth sounding collections of tunes we’ve come across in a while. This is one of those albums that you can play all the way through and it’s filled with organic sounds of jazz, harmonic vocals and tight lyrical raps.
