‘Footloose: The Musical’ is touring Australia in 2026

80s phenomenon Footloose: The Musical is touring Australia, with its premiere at Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre on 11 April.

Featuring an all-Australian cast, the production is led by Gabriel Tiller as Ren McCormack, the role originated by Kevin Bacon in 1984.

When Ren moves to live in the small town of Bomont with his aunt and uncle, his passion for music puts him at odds with the town’s Reverend, who wants to enact a ban on dancing to make sure young folks don’t have too much fun.

The four-time Tony-nominated musical is the ultimate 80s party, featuring classic hits from the era including Holding Out For A Hero, Let’s Hear It For The Boy, Almost Paradise and of course, Kenny Loggins’ Footloose.

Tiller is joined on stage by Maverick Newman (Hair The Musical), Maddison Coleman (Guys and Dolls), Brianna Bishop, Angela Brischetto, Justin Gray, Jordan Twigg and Tim Brown, alongside a stellar ensemble cast.

Lyrics are by the Oscar and Golden Globe award winning writer of the movie, Dean Pitchford (with additional lyrics by Kenny Loggins). The book is also by Pitchford, alongside the Tony Award nominated Walter Bobbie.

Prolific songwriter Tom Snow, who has written songs for superstars like Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton John, wrote the music, with others.

Footloose: The Musical boogies into Perth from Friday, 29 May. For more, head to footloosethemusical.com
